Mark Goodstein has been starting companies and other ventures for almost 20 years. He was one of the first employees of renowned business incubator Idealab, under whose roof he started four companies, including Intranets.com, GoTo.com (Overture, Inc.), the pioneer of paid search, and X1 Technologies, producer of the award-winning application that helps Windows users search the full text of their email, attachments, and files as fast as they can type. Most recently, he was the executive director of Cleantech LA, an organization whose mission is to catalyze the cleantech sector in the LA region. He also started the Progressive Automotive X Prize, which was a competition to inspire the production of ultra-efficient vehicles and then spent a year putting together a venture capital fund focused on bringing bench-validated automotive technologies to market. Mark has a degree in history from the University of Chicago.
