Serves as lead accounting and budget professional for $40M non profit firm serving public and private institutions in CA. Responsible, in coordination with outside accounting firm and other staff, for:
- Preparing annual budget, monitoring expenses against budget and preparing mid year budget
- Establishing/updating chart of accounts and to assure proper coding of revenue and expenses to accounts
- Providing final review of invoices for comparison to p.o.'s and contracts
- Issuing invoices in accordance with contracts and/or fee schedules
- Monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding receivables
- Interfacing with telecommunications carriers to assure that organization receives proper Federal E rate and State California Teleconnect Fund credits
- Submitting payroll to outside accounting firm, including records of vacation and sick leave accrual and usage
- Preparing accruals for quarterly financial reports
- Reviewing quarterly financial reports for correct recording of income and expenses and prepare analysis of financial performance
- Serving as administrator for organization's 403b and 457 plans
- Reconcile financial and asset inventory records
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 years of accounting/budget work experience
- 4 year college degree
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- CPA
- Experience in not for profit sector
- MBA
Salary commensurate with experience.
