Network Documentation Analyst

Reporting to the Director of Technical Operations, CENIC's Network Documentation Analyst will maintain and update the documentation for CENIC's networks, facilities, and for CENIC's associated operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write and edit internal documentation of procedures, facilities, resources, etc.,
• Maintain documentation of network and associated resources for external uses,
• Monitor network deployment and change processes to identify necessary documentation updates, including updates to databases as appropriate (e.g., asset management and project accounting),
• Perform audits of network facilities for conformance with documentation and correct discrepancies in the documentation, and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Education and Experience:
  • Four-year degree in an applicable field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in a diverse, team-oriented environment
  • Experience collaborating with and writing for a highly technical audience
  • Experience or education in computer networking highly desirable


• Skills and Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Proven ability to gather information from a variety of sources and develop clear and coherent documentation
  • Knowledge of networking terminology and technologies
  • Experience with graphical tools (e.g., Visio, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Experience with HTML, javascript, and web authoring tools (e.g., Dreamweaver) preferred


• Special Conditions of Employment:
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
